Mentoring connects experienced engineers with those seeking guidance.

Every engineering career comes with questions. You may be entering the profession, adapting to Singapore's engineering environment, considering a new specialisation, preparing for greater responsibility or looking for advice on a professional challenge.

SEAS recognises the value of learning from experienced engineers. If you would like mentoring support, reach out to the association. SEAS will endeavour to help arrange a suitable connection with a senior member, subject to availability and mutual agreement.

How Mentoring Can Help

Career Direction

Discuss career goals, possible development paths and the skills that may help you prepare for future responsibilities.

Industry Experience

Learn from a senior engineer's experience of professional challenges, project work and working within Singapore's engineering landscape.

Professional Development

Identify areas for further learning, consider new perspectives and discuss ways to build professional confidence.

Knowledge Exchange

Share your questions and learn through an open conversation. Mentoring is an opportunity for discussion rather than a guarantee of a particular outcome.

How the SEAS Mentoring Request Works

  1. 1

Tell SEAS what guidance you are looking for.

  2. 2

The association reviews your request and considers whether a suitable senior member may be available.

  3. 3

If an appropriate match can be arranged, SEAS will help facilitate an introduction, subject to both parties' agreement.

  4. 4

Agree on the discussion format, topics and expectations directly with the mentor.

Important: Mentoring requests are subject to availability. SEAS cannot guarantee a match, a specific response time or a particular career outcome.
