
Membership Types
SEAS offers different membership categories for eligible engineers, students and other Singapore residents who wish to participate in the association.
Ordinary Member
Individuals who are Sri Lankan citizens, former Sri Lankan citizens or Sri Lankan descendants residing in Singapore, who possess a tertiary degree, diploma or technical certificate in engineering from an institution acceptable to the Committee.
Applications are reviewed by the Committee, which has discretion to decide on admission.

- Office-bearing eligibility (subject to the Constitution's age and citizenship/residency restrictions)
Associate Member
All Singapore residents are eligible to apply for associate membership.
The Committee reviews applications and determines admission.

Student Member
Students who are Sri Lankan citizens, former Sri Lankan citizens or Sri Lankan descendants residing in Singapore, enrolled in a reputable tertiary engineering degree, diploma or technical certificate programme.
The Committee reviews applications and determines admission.

Honorary Member
An individual who formerly served as a SEAS committee member for at least five years, or a person distinguished by the Committee, may be considered for honorary membership.
Appointment is made by the Committee through a unanimous vote at a meeting.

Important Constitutional Notes
The following points are provided as general explanatory information. Please consult the official SEAS Constitution for the full rules governing membership.
- People under 18 cannot be accepted without written consent from a parent or guardian.
- Only members above 21 have the right to vote and hold office, subject to the other applicable constitutional requirements.
- Certain office-bearer positions are restricted to Ordinary Members who are Singapore citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
- The Committee decides on membership applications.
- Membership fees and subscriptions are determined by the General Meeting on the Committee's recommendation.
- Annual subscriptions are payable in advance within the first month of the year.
- The Constitution specifies that membership may be automatically removed if dues remain unpaid for more than six months following notification.
